Effective August 5, 2010, the following rule is added to the MCR Rule
Book pertaining to the protest and covers all classes with the exception
of FASTRAK touring events, which are covered under the FASTRAK rule
book.
A driver may protest up to (1) One car in its class per night for a
specific infraction he/she believes the other car may have. The protest
can occur at any time during the evening, however the opportunity to
protest closes 15 minutes after the class’ feature is completed.
A protest costs $200.00 and must be paid in cash at the time the protest
is entered. In the event the car being protested is illegal, the $200 is
returned to the person protesting the car. In the event the car is
deemed legal, the $200 is split between MCR and the driver being
protested.
Only the driver or registered owner may protest a car and the protest
must be for a specific infraction. (for example: motor, body, tires,
spoiler, etc). The protest must be made to MCR Management (Tom. Rich,
Ken or Rod) or to the chief Pit Steward (Jeff Gardner). Once notified,
the car protested must be immediately presented to the designated tech
area and in the event more than 15 minutes passes between the time the
driver being protested is notified and the car is presented at the
designated tech area, the car is deemed illegal. It is not necessary for
the driver/owner of the car protesting to present his/her car at the
tech area, unless the car being protested follows the same procedures to
protest the protesting car. (A car can be protested for multiple rules
infractions, however each protested item is considered a protest and
carries a separate protest charge)
The car will be teched by MCR with only the driver and owner of each
party present along with MCR officials. Any other presence or
disturbance caused may result in disqualification or removal from the
speedway.
The car may be teched for reasons beyond the infraction protested,
however that is at the sole discretion of MCR Management. If the car is
deemed legal based upon the infraction protested, & MCR Management has
not made the decision to tech another area of the car, no other part of
the car may be protested.
MCR Management has the right to impound a car being protested if it
deems it necessary to properly check the infraction. If the owner/driver
of the car protested does not want the car impounded, then it is deemed
illegal.
Decisions of MCR Management are final. Once the car leaves the speedway
premises, no further action/discussion will be permitted.
