A note
from the
Founder:
First, let
me say thanks for considering us as your sanctioning
body. I know it’s the corniest saying in the world,
but FASTRAK really is a ‘family’ of racers across
the United States. I have been involved in the
racing industry for over 40 years and the drivers
meeting at Bulls Gap, TN this past October for Night
3 of the Grand Nationals has to be one of the best I
have ever attended. I had call after call from
people across the country saying how good of a time
they had at Grand Nationals, how people were nice to
them, and how they were helpful. The common
statement coming from Grand Nationals was how much
the drivers enjoyed it. One of the best times they
ever had racing. FASTRAK is as close to racing in
‘the good old days’ as it could possibly be.
2006
brought us the oldest driver in history to win a
Dirt Late Model National Championship, won by Hot
Rod LaMance. 2007 brought us the youngest National
Champion in history for dirt cars in 20 year old
William Thomas. That’s about as even as it gets. It
really does show you how competitive things are in
FASTRAK. In the Southern/Mid East Regions in 2007,
the first 13 touring events had 13 different
winners. Only 2 people won more than one race. It
truly is a competitive field.
In 2004
the point fund was supposed to have been $24,000. We
actually paid $25,600. In 2005 we said we would pay
$70,000. In reality we paid over $92,000. 2006 we
stated $250,000. We paid over $282,000. 2007 we said
$350,000. We paid over $457,000. That’s the way it
goes at FASTRAK. If anything, we understate what we
are going to do. Oh yes, there are still ‘naysayers’
out there. Every year we just keep proving them
wrong. Maybe one day they will actually give up.
Either way, we will still be here.
2008
brings about a couple of new items for FASTRAK. The
National Weekly Series pays a tremendous $10,000 to
win and through 30 positions across the country.
Each Regional Championship pays a minimum of $5000
to win and 10 positions. Then the granddaddy of them
all, the Grand Nationals pay $50,000 to win and
through 30 positions. This year everyone starts the
Grand Nationals with 0 points making it equal for
EVERY member of FASTRAK.
2008
brings about our new Sprint Car Class. The class
will utilize the new FASTRAK spec engine. This class
is starting in the SE United States it will debut
the new engine and class making sure we have all the
bugs worked out before we take it nationwide. The
sprints will run 10 races in conjunction with our
late model touring events.
2009 will
bring about the most exciting year yet for FASTRAK
regions, tracks and teams across the country.
Everything will be announced at the 2008 points
banquet, so be sure to be there. You will be
surprised I can assure you.
Thanks
again for joining us and I look forward to meeting
you personally at some point this year.
Sincerely,
R. Stan

TECHNICAL UPDATES
Please
make sure we have your email address for technical
updates. This is the quickest method we have of
getting you ‘updated’ information. WE DO NOT SEND
ANYTHING VIA THE U.S. POST OFFICE.
MEMBERSHIP FEES
2008
membership fees: YOU MUST BE A MEMBER TO RECEIVE
POINTS. POINTS ARE NOT ‘RETROACTIVE’. YOU WILL NOT
RECEIVE POINTS UNTIL MEMBERSHIP HAS BEEN PAID. If
membership is paid ‘after’ event, that event does
not count towards points.
*Please
note there are 3 entirely different championships
going on at the same time.
National Weekly Championship: $10,000
to win and pays through 30 positions. $95 DRIVER
FEE
Regional Touring Championships: $5000 to win and
pays through 10 positions in each region. $95
DRIVER FEE
Grand
National Championship: $50,000 to win
and pays through 30 positions. If you are not racing
for either the National Weekly Championship or a
Regional Touring Championship and your sole
intention is to come to the $50,000 to win Grand
Nationals, then you must pay both Weekly and Touring
fees. Tracking is done by computer, so this is the
only way the computer will calculate your points.
Total of both fees: $190.
Car
Owner Points: This is not mandatory.
Owners/drivers need not pay. This is for the sole
purpose of ‘tracking’ to be eligible for the year
end Grand Nationals. In the past a driver/owner
relationship has broken apart and the owner could
not come to the Grand Nationals because we only
issued ‘driver’ points. This is to insure the owner
can be eligible to come as well. Only FASTRAK
qualified drivers may compete for the Grand
Nationals. We will forward a list of qualified
drivers to an owner should this occur.
YOU MAY
BE REQUIRED TO SHOW MEMBERSHIP CARDS AT EVENTS. KEEP
THEM WITH YOU AT ALL TIMES.
