FASTRAK
FACTS:
|
|
The 2007
FASTRAK Point Fund is nearly $350,000.00 with the FASTRAK national champion
receiving $50,000.00 cash plus contingencies. How does a local
racer make it to the Nationals and have a chance to win $50,000.00?
|
-
The driver must register to
be a FASTRAK member. Membership is based upon the number of tracks
and or Touring Series' that the driver wishes to compete in.
Membership Forms are available
here. Drivers who choose not to be a member can still compete
in the race, but cannot earn points towards any FASTRAK Point Awards or
Invitations to the National Championship.
-
The driver must compete in
51% of any weekly track or touring series they are a member of.
Once that is accomplished, 1 National Point is earned and an invitation
to compete in the Nationals is earned. The schedule for the
nationals has not been released as of yet, however MCR has learned that
out of 3 nights of racing, 1 will be in the Northeast Region (or region
you compete in) and 1 (the final) will be in Bulls Gap, Tennessee at
Volunteer Speedway. The other night will be announced.
-
The maximum points any driver
can earn towards the National Championship is 5. All other points
to determine the National Champion are earned during the Nationals 3
nights of racing.
-
A driver can earn 3 points if
they win any of the points championships they compete in (MCR FASTRAK
Weekly Champion, Raceway 7 FASTRAK Weekly Champion, Northeast Region
Point Champion, etc). Second place in any series earns 2 points,
third place earns 1 point.
-
A 5th point can be earned if
a driver attempts to make all of the races scheduled for a particular
series (MCR Weekly, Raceway 7 Weekly, Northeast Touring Weekly)
-
At the end of the year, the
driver must select which series they want to count towards the National
Championship (obviously they would pick the one they did the best in, if
they won two series, they would still select one)

What is up
for grabs...... |
- The MCR Champion will receive $1,000 from FASTRAK plus
the MCR point Money plus a Leather Jacket from FASTRAK
- The Northeast Touring Series Champion will receive $5,000 cash,
plus a Leather Jacket. Spots 2-10 will also receive
point money. As of March 9th, more than $10,000 in contingency
awards are available and more are coming.
- The National Champion will receive at least $50,000 in cash plus
contingencies, FASTRAK will pay the top 30 in points from the National
Champions weekend. The 2006 champion Steve "Hot Rod" LaMance won
over $30,000 in contingencies, and $50,000 in cash. Remarkably, he
did it with a 99 GRT and an Open Trailer!! Amazingly LaMance made
the Nationals by winning his home track championship and earned the
loyalty point for competing in all the races at his home track and he
won the Nationals by 1 point!
